A fellow by the name of Rob had emailed me quite some time ago (back around October 2017, I think), inquiring about the Wheel of Fate, how it was conceived and designed, etc. Rob was kind enough to point out that the Exceptional Yes values in the “upper” window (Impossible through Somewhat Likely) for Chaos Rank 1 were incorrect compared to the Fate Chart in Mythic: Game Master Emulator. He also suggested that the contrast of the Exceptional numbers (upper and lower) for Chaos Rank 8 were particularly illegible. Big thanks to him (and his wife) for the constructive feedback!
I’ve now gotten around to it and updated both of Rob’s issues, corrected some typos, and updated the instructions slightly. There’s probably no need to trash your old Wheel of Fate as long as you’re aware that the Chaos Rank 1 Exceptional Yes values are incorrect (effectively, Chaos Rank 5 exceptional values — a copy/paste error). I can’t say I’ve ever made it all the way down to Chaos Rank 1, but your experiences may differ, so use your own discretion if you want to print and construct this new version. (I’m personally still using my “alpha” version in the photos.)
I apologize for the error and hope it hasn’t caused you (or your characters!) any grief. You can grab the updated version here or on DriveThruRPG. If you have previously downloaded it from DTRPG, it should already be available in your account and will update the next time you sync your files, so no need to “purchase” it again.
Thanks, and I hope today is full of adventure!
v0.1.23 – 2018.03.13: Corrected “exceptional yes” numbers for Chaos Rank 1, Adjusted contrast on “exceptional” numbers for Chaos Rank 8, Fixed typos, Updated instruction page.
